"So Secure - So Smart - SoEasy"
How Does It Work?
BackupSoEasy™ backup software is a simple yet powerful tool for backing up any number of files
and/or databases from many types of operating systems. Here's some insight on how it works:
BackupSoEasy:
Welcome to our information page. This is where we offer documentation and explain in some detail how
the program works, as well as it's benefits.

Run The Backup At A Scheduled Time Automatically

Once you set your online backup schedule, it becomes automatic. It works for you during your absence
thus giving you free time for more important things. You can have a backup running at any scheduled
time, as often as you want (e.g. twice a day or hourly during office hours) without requiring any extra
effort or intervention. This is a major part of a disaster planning and recovery solution.

Incremental Backup

Unchanged files are already backed up to the server and need not to be backed up again.
BackupSoEasy™OBM will pick the new or updated files from your backup set and upload only these
files to the server. It significantly reduces the time required to perform the backup operation since
most users update less than 5% of their total data each day.

Compress And Encrypt Data Automatically

All data is compressed and encrypted before it is uploaded to the server. Not only does it reduce the
space necessary to store your backup files, it also ensures the privacy of your data backup.

File Retention Policy

The built-in file retention policy allows you to access multiple versions of the same file, or even
deleted files, from your backup set. Backup files are put into a retention area before they are
removed from the server. If you want to get back a deleted file or the previous version(s) of an
updated file within the retention period, these files will always be available. This feature is
particularly useful when you have accidentally deleted a file or incorrectly updated a file. The file
retention period is user-customizeable to fit your storage needs.

Encryption And Security - What Is It?

Encryption is the act of turning a block of plain text or other raw data (such as binary computer files) into
"ciphertext," or encoded blocks of text. An
example of encryption is that the word "password" would become
scrambled or "hashed", and would look something like this:

To find out more about encryption, click on this link:
- 128-bit point-to-point SSL communication between server and client
- Support HTTP/HTTPS Proxy and Socks v4/v5 firewall
- Data is 256-bit encrypted when stored on the backup server
- Choice of different encryption algorithms, e.g. Twofish, Triple DES, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)
- Choice of different encryption modes, e.g. Electronic Cook Book (ECB) and Cipher Block Chaining (CBC)
- A random initializing vector, salt and iteration count will be generated by the software automatically for each
file when encrypting your data
- Each backup user can restrict online access to their files by a pre-defined list of IP addresses he or she selects
